This last week and this week Liberty has been studying Royalty in Heritage Studies. We just happen to start the week of the Royal Wedding, so we DVR'd the wedding and watched it. Liberty and I really enjoyed watching all the guest show up and loved looking at all the hats. Our favorite part of the wedding was of course the kiss and we both thought the bonus kiss was adorable.
In Heritage studies Liberty learned about Louis XV, Fredrick the Great, Maria Theresa, and Catherine the Great. Out of all those Rulers if she were a Princess she said she would want to rule like Maria Theresa because she was a kind ruler.
In English Liberty is working on writing a book report this week. She has chosen one of her favorite books called My sister is a chicken. I am very proud of her she has been working so hard and is really catching on to the writing thing. This is a very big thing for Liberty because for so long she hated to wrtie anything. She has come a long way.
Science this last week and this week we studied the human body. To make things a little more fun and interesting I got us a model skeleton and the kids and I put it together. The kids had so much fun learning about the bones while putting the skeleton together. Landon and Teyla both helped, but they got bored pretty quickly so Libby and I finished it ourselves.
The other subjects were pretty normal and Liberty is doing great in them. I have to say that I am very proud of how hard Liberty has been working and am truely grateful to be apart of her education.
Teyla is very excited to graduate in June from Kindergarten and is working hard to make sure that nothing will stop her from graduating. This week Teyla is working on an ABC notebook. In her notebook she works on a letter a day. There are a lot of activites she gets to do with each letter and she enjoys finding out what she is doing for each letter.
In phonics Teyla has been working hard on click and learn. She is reading 3 letter works and writing two and three sentences. Teyla is a little sponge and picks up things so easily. I am very proud of her.
Landon has just recently started to want to participate in school. Since he is only 4 I gave him the choice to do school or not to do school. Monday he surprised me and wanted to work. He is working on writing his name without tracing it. Tuesday he did his very first click and read phonic lesson and did surprisingly well.
I am excited about this new blog and an excited about posting here more often. I hope you all will enjoy our last couple of months of school along with us and come back and daily to see what we have been up to.
